Garter stitch is recognized by the distinct horizontal ridges that are made up of little bumps shaped like frowns and smiles. It is easy to knit reversible lays flat and is stretchy. Simply knit continuously and bind off when youve reached the desired length.
It involves using two strands of yarn and working in both directions alternating direction and yarn used on each round. When working in rounds the right side is always facing you so knitting every round produces the traditional Stockinette. It is the fabric you produce when you knit every stitch of every row.
